This requirement ensures that every organization engaged in export and import services possesses a DSC for conducting online transactions with the DGFT. The process includes verifying the sender's identity, the DSC's validity, and the legitimacy of the submitted documents before proceeding with the allotment of license issuance. One significant advantage for EXIM organizations submitting documents online is a 50% discount on license fees. DSCs also offer protection against fraud, such as identity theft and misuse of information. For organizations submitting documents through Custom House Agents, DSC validation is required. To obtain an Export and Import license, an organization must have a Class 3 DSC registered under the name of an authorized representative. Recognized by the legal system and the Government of India, documents signed with a DSC are deemed more authentic than those with a physical signature, aligning with the privileges provided by the Indian Information Technology Act 2000.
